Two months after the first day in the first School that implemented eyeOS as a full substitute of Windows+Office, we finally received the video that shows eyeOS in that environment. It’s a really important success for us to be able to see all the students and teachers working in an unified environment (with 4 different desktops).
The base system for the 600 laptops is a stripped-down linux that just boots the system and loads a Kiosk mode Firefox with the local eyeOS installation inside, after autoconnecting to the school wi-fi system. After the student/teacher logs in the system, the laptop automounts the local student directory in the laptop file system, so the studen can work outside eyeOS (for example in websites that can receive files from the local computer, or saving images from internet to the PC) since they were always inside their local eyeOS directory.
We will be publishing more information and downloads soon. But as an introduction, here you have the video. Enjoy it!
