Introducing eyeFiles 2

EyeFiles on eyeos 2.0 is completely written from scratch and adds lots of community suggestions. One of this new features is the new selection options. For some users is quite strange and difficult to work with the keyboard in eyeos, some times is even difficult to use the right click (and understand why the context menus are different from the host OS and browser ones).

The new behavior is much easier: You can manage files with the normal left click usage. Drag and drop is also possible to select multiple files. The path will help you to know on each moment where are you working.

1

EyeFiles 2 has also renewed it’s uploader. In eyeos 2.0 it’s possible to upload multiple files (as in eyeos 1.x) but you can also select different destinations for each one. While you are uploading you will also know the elapsed time to finish the operation.

7

To manage files is also easy. There are 3 different ways with drag and drop to move a file or a directory. The first one is to drag the directory that we want to move and to drop it to the destination.

3

The second is using the places bar, located on the left of eyeFiles. The places bar has the main directories that you use (and you can edit them). Drag and drop a directory to left to move them to that specific path.

4

Finally, it’s also possible to drag some files or folders to a part of the path shown on the top bar.

Stay tuned for new presentations!

    Hi devs,
this looks amazing as everything I have seen from 2.0 so far.
Some more ideas (for the future):
    - buttons for reloading and moving up one step in the file hierarchy (maybe allow personal configuration of the task bar as in FF or Windows Explorer with right-klick “adjust”)
    - selection of multiple files with “Ctrl/Strg” or mouse dragging
    - when hovering over a file-icon: infos about the file with javascript tooltips
    - a special icon for shared folders (like in windows)

The important question for me is, can I access with the eyeFiles2 the filesystem (on the server) outside from eyeOS? or can you only access the user space inside of the eyeOS scope?
