When a technology is considered mature? When becomes an established part of our daily lives? When the Oxford English Dictionary confirms its existence? Or when a university teaches a course on the technology?
This month, the University of Washington has revealed the first university certificate program in cloud computing, which focuses on the following topics:
- Cloud computing models: SaaS, PaaS, IaaS and database as a service.
- Overview of the cloud computing market.
- Strategic technological choices and development tools.
- Web-scale analytics and frameworks for processing large data sets.
- Advanced topics including database query optimization, consideration of NoSQL solutions, memory caching, fault tolerance and disaster recovery.
Interesting, isn’t it? The cloud has come to stay. And this is a new evidence.
